When Eamon and Toresa Hooper purchased the business from Eamon’s parents, Anne and Donald, they were stepping into big shoes and challenging times. That first season meant navigating the 2009/2010 recession, all while contending with the arrival of another Husqvarna dealership in town. It was a tough start.
But they persevered, staying true to their commitment to delivering the best possible service selling, maintaining, and repairing lawnmowers, chainsaws, gardening equipment, and just about anything with a small motor.
Before taking over, both Eamon and Toresa had worked in the family business, but running it was new territory. They learned on the job, balancing business ownership with raising a young family. Fast forward 16 years, and they’re still growing, learning, and pouring their hearts and energy into it every day.
While the business has evolved, its focus hasn’t changed. Providing excellent service and supporting customers with quality equipment remains at the heart of what they do.
Many of the brands they stock today are the same trusted names from 16 years ago and even from Anne and Donald’s time reflecting a long-standing belief in high-quality, reliable gear that offers lasting value.
As one of Husqvarna’s first dealers in New Zealand, Hoopers has seen technology shift dramatically. But that just means they bring even more experience and know-how to every conversation offering helpful, practical advice when customers need it most.
If you’re in the area, pop in and say hi to Toresa, Eamon, and the friendly team. They’re always happy to help however they can.
