Executive Assistant
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to be the trusted right-hand to our CEO, responsible for all Board administration, and to provide flexible support across the wider business. This is a part-time role (25 hours per week, Monday to Friday) based in Ashburton.

About the role
You will be responsible for providing high quality Executive, Board and general administrative support enabling Ruralco to operate efficiently and professionally. The role requires exceptional organisation, discretion, and a genuine commitment to support Ruralco’s farmers and shareholders and its ongoing success. As the Executive Assistant you will ensure:
  • CEO support functions are well organised and executed
  • Board processes run smoothly and professionally
  • Staff feel well supported with administration
  • All information is accurate, timely, and confidentiality and strictly adhered to
  • You are a trusted and valued part of the Ruralco team

About you
We’re looking for someone who acts with absolute integrity, is conscientious and able to expertly execute tasks to ensure the smooth running of Ruralco’s Executive and Board functions. You will ideally have:
  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or senior administrator
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office capability
  • Confident learner and user of new systems and technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with board administration is highly desirable
  • Good understanding and experience of the agribusiness and farming sectors

Marketing Executive
One of our team members is heading off to travel the world, creating an exciting opportunity for a senior marketer to step into a well-established role within our team. It’s a great time to join our supportive, fun, and collaborative team which includes long-term and newly appointed marketers.
We're looking for an energetic Marketing Executive who loves variety, can connect with people easily, and is keen to showcase their marketing experience. If you're a great personality-plus person with a passion for farming, and a can-do attitude, this is the role for you.

About the roleOur marketing team supports and delivers meaningful marketing activity that strengthens Ruralco's brand, connecting with our Shareholders across Mid Canterbury and beyond. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you'll be responsible for planning, delivery and continuously improving Ruralco's marketing activity. You'll work closely with teams across our business and with external partners to delivery marketing activity that is aligned to our brand and commercial objectives. 

What you’ll be doingThere's plenty of variety in this role where you'll get to be a champion of the Ruralco brand as well as:

Lead the planning and delivery of multi-channel marketing campaignsDevelop and deliver marketing campaigns for our retail activity, contributing fresh ideas that move our brand forward whilst supporting the business for sales success.

Lead the delivery of key Ruralco events, sponsorships and activationsEvents are a big part of this role. You'll lead the planning and deliver some of Mid Canterbury's most iconic agricultural events, from Instore Days and our presence at A&P shows, to sponsorship events and community engagements. If you enjoy bringing people together and seeing ideas come to life, you'll love this.

About you
We’re looking for someone who brings:
  • A great attitude, strong initiative, and a collaborative style
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to talk comfortably with farmers and rural business owners
  • 3+ years’ experience in a marketing role with retail marketing, campaign management, brand management, communications, and event management experience, preferably within the ag sector
  • Demonstrated strengths and capability across campaigns, content, digital and events
  • Design skills would be a bonus
  • Confidence working with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Solid understanding of digital platforms, analytics and optimisation
  • A proactive, organised marketer who enjoys balancing strategy with delivery
  • A genuine interest in or appreciation for the rural sector

Data Analyst
Our data analyst is heading away on their big OE so we are looking for an experienced data analyst with the ability to interpret data to drive informed business decisions to take their place. This is a full-time role based in Ashburton and provides the opportunity to help shape our data strategy.

About the role

You will be responsible for analysing and interpreting data from a variety of sources, as well as creating insightful reports and visualisations. You can expect to:
  • Analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations
  • Create data-driven reports and dashboards for stakeholders
  • Apply statistical techniques (e.g. regression, clustering) to solve business problems
  • Predict future trends and outcomes using historical data

About you
As part of our friendly IT team, you will bring energy, commitment, strong attention to detail, and great interpersonal skills. We’re looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills who is a creative thinker able to tackle complex problems. You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role and a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Ability to write complex queries, optimise performance, and work with relational and cloud-based data warehouses (e.g. Big Query, SQL)
  • Skilled in producing interactive, dynamic dashboards using Qlik Sense, or similar tools, with the ability to design scalable data models
  • Capable of translating complex data insights into practical business recommendations and influencing decision-making
  • Experience in data validation, documentation, metadata standards, and the handling of sensitive or regulated data
