About the role
Our marketing team supports and delivers meaningful marketing activity that strengthens Ruralco’s brand, connecting with our Shareholders across Mid Canterbury and beyond.
What you'll be doing
No two days look the same here. In this role, you’ll get to:
Create content that matters
- Craft engaging written, visual, and multimedia content for our digital channels – from social media and email to website and video. If you’ve got design skills, photography skills, or a flair for storytelling, that’s a big bonus
Help grow and manage our social media presence
- Keep our channels active, relevant, and on-brand. You’ll help plan, schedule, and post content that resonates with our rural community.
Play a major role in Ruralco events
- Events are a big part of this role. You’ll help plan and deliver some of Mid Canterbury’s most iconic agricultural events, from Instore Days and our presence at A & P shows, to sponsorship events and community engagements. If you enjoy bringing people together and seeing ideas come to life, you’ll love this.
Get out on farm and connect with our community
- Whether it’s capturing content, supporting events, or meeting members, you’ll need to feel confident talking with farmers, asking good questions, and building rapport.
Support campaigns and communications
- Help coordinate advertising, work with our suppliers, assist with marketing campaigns, and contribute fresh ideas that move our brand forward.
About you
We’re open-minded about your level of experience. You might be early in your career or have a few solid years under your belt. As long as you are enthusiastic, creative, and eager to grow, we’d love to hear from you.
You will bring:
- A great attitude, strong initiative, and a collaborative style
- Experience in marketing, comms, or digital (agency or in-house)
- Skills in content creation and social media
- Design skills, photography, and/or video experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to talk comfortably with farmers and rural business owners
- Curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to give things a go
- The ability to juggle multiple tasks
- A genuine interest in or appreciation for the rural sector

Inwards Goods Store Person
About the role
Are you an experienced store person with a passion for operational excellence and exceptional customer service? We are seeking an Inward Goods Store Person looking to showcase their eye for detail, strong organisational skills and their ability to respond to a variety of tasks, all with a smile and plenty of enthusiasm.
This is a full time role based at our Ashburton store working with other departments across our Mid Canterbury based farm supplies co-operative. It involves the efficient daily operation of Ruralco’s Ashburton inward goods area, including accurately receiving, storage and distribution of goods while supporting a safe and efficient warehouse environment.
About you
You will need to have:
- Demonstrated warehousing experience, particularly in inward goods
- Forklift and dangerous goods certification
- Full NZ drivers licence
- Have a passion for customer service excellence
- Great communication skills and the ability to build and maintain professional internal and external relationships
- A high level of independence, initiative and organisational skills, while also having the flexibility and adaptability to work as part of a team
- A good level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems
- Be physically fit and capable with no restrictions on lifting or manual handling
- A strong commitment and focus on health and safety
- A willingness to learn and a can-do attitude
- Be energetic, positive and enthusiastic
- Have strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
- An understanding of the agricultural sector and related products
