Ruralco Golf Classic raises $12,000 for Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust
The Ruralco Golf Classic has raised $12,000 for the Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust (MCRST) at its second annual event, held at the Tinwald Golf Course.
More than 100 golfers from across Mid Canterbury took part in the event, enjoying a great day of camaraderie while raising vital funds for a cause close to the rural community.
Ruralco CEO Tony Aitken says the event continues to highlight the strength of the local rural community. “It was a fantastic day, albeit a very hot one, and it was great to see such a strong turnout from across the district. The Ruralco Golf Classic has become a real highlight on the rural calendar, bringing people together for a great cause while supporting the important work of the Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust.”
Tony says Ruralco is proud to support organisations that play such an important role in the wellbeing of the rural sector. “As a locally owned co-operative, supporting our community is at the heart of what we do. The funds raised will stay right here in Mid Canterbury and help ensure farmers and rural families have access to the support they need when times are tough.”
“Thanks to the incredible support of players, sponsors and prize donors, 100% of proceeds from team entries, on-course challenges and raffles will go directly to the Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust,” says Tony. Special thanks goes to Ballance Agri-Nutrients as the event’s primary sponsor, along with sponsors Nutrien Ag Solutions and RX Plastics, and all the businesses and organisations who supported the day.
These funds will help the Trust continue providing free, confidential support and wellbeing services to Mid Canterbury farmers and rural families across the district.
This year’s winning team was Time Out with players Lyndon Moore, Toby Thomas, Paul Gray, and Jo Moore, who topped the leaderboard after a competitive afternoon on the course.
Ruralco looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust and making the Ruralco Golf Classic a much-anticipated annual event for the rural community.
