Overcast today with outbreaks of light rain at times during the day, and cool northerly winds dying out. Colder southwesterlies freshening during the evening with a period of heavier rain tonight. Snow to 500m, possibly heavy inland later in the night. Early rain and snow clearing by mid morning then dry for most of Thursday, but rather cloudy and very cold. Moderate southerly quarter winds. A few sunny periods may develop late in the day.

Fine early Friday with a few sunny periods and light winds. Cloud increasing and snow spreading north during the afternoon. There is a risk of heavy snow above 200m on Friday night, and lighter flurries likely to near sea level. Becoming bitterly cold, with gusty southerly winds.

Overcast at the weekend with frequent snow and sleet showers to low levels on Saturday, but only isolated light snow flurries along the coast on Sunday and flurries clearing later on. Bitterly cold, with moderate southerly quarter winds. Widespread severe frosts Sunday night.

Mostly fine and sunny on Monday and Tuesday with frost and cold temperatures. Light winds.

Milder northerlies freshening next Wednesday with cloud increasing; rain developing at night.

Cloudy with showers next Thursday and Friday; snow on the hills. Moderate easterly quarter winds, cold temperatures.
