Ed Body started his fencing business 25 years ago as the dairy industry was kicking off in Canterbury. Ed saw the need for quality fencing for the conversions, and quickly picked work up as a skilled and respected fencing contractor. Ed and his team not only do fencing, but have diversified into building cattle and sheep yards, hay sheds and urban fencing.
When Ed started his fencing business he purchased all his supplies from Ruralco, and quickly realised that he wished to be a merchant for them too. That was 21 years ago, and he’s been with them ever since.
“Being a Ruralco merchant is great because the farmer doesn’t receive an invoice from us, Ruralco do all the paper work, and we get paid once a month which is awesome! It gives us confidence in knowing we will be paid, so we can move our business forward and are able to pay the bills our end too. I often say to people it’s not what it costs me but it’s what it saves me, because I don’t waste time having to ring and chase anybody saying why haven’t you paid your bill?”
Ed loves the relationship he has with the reps, as a lot of them have been working for Ruralco for many years.
