Tony and Sharon Watson took over Mayfield Spraying in July 2021, after searching for a new business venture to run as their own. Tony has always worked on farms, so understands well how they operate and the challenges they face.
Daniel and Jason, the other team members, are both South Island locals. Tony and Sharon's daughers, Tessa and Grace, are also both known for jumping into a truck to help in the weekend.
Mayfield Spraying spend the winter upskilling the team, upgrading and maintaining their equipment and stocking up their gear.
“I love getting up in the morning knowing that what I’m going to do that day is for my own business. We made sure we joined Ruralco as soon as we started our business. We joined for ease of accounting, we didn’t know what we were doing and they’ve been so great. We’ve had the usual hiccups along the way and Ruralco have helped sort those out,” says Tony.
When it comes to preparing for the new season, Mayfield Spraying know you can't always predict what will happen. However, they know that in working alongside their clients, as Ruralco works alongside them, they can help deliver the best outcome for everyone.
